The North West wastewater connection project will connect the pumping station at Taylee Place to the Rouse Hill Water Resource Recovery Facility.
The population in Sydney's North West is expected to double by 2056. With rapid development, we are launching the North West wastewater connection project to ensure reliable and resilient wastewater treatment.
Upgrading the pumping station and installing an emergency generator will help prevent wastewater overflows, protecting local waterways and the environment.
The new pipeline and upgrades will enhance the reliability and resilience of the wastewater system, ensuring it can handle increased demand as the population grows
The project will involve significant construction work, which may cause temporary disruptions to the local community. Construction activities will generate noise and vibration, which could affect nearby residents and businesses. Measures like temporary noise barriers will be used to mitigate these impacts. We will keep the community informed via regular letterbox updates, door knocks and drop-in sessions.
Our delivery partner Ironbark Joint Venture will be carrying out investigation work from Tuesday 7 January 2025, weather permitting, and expect the work to take 3 weeks to finish. Our working hours are Monday to Friday from 7am to 6pm, and Saturdays from 8am to 1pm.
We are hosting 2 community pop-up sessions at Knox Place Reserve on Saturday 7 December from 10am to 12 noon and Wednesday 11 December from 3:30pm to 5pm, where you can get more information and ask questions.
The work is subject to a Review of Environmental Factors (REF).
