Manage flow isolation

Follow the Flow Isolation Flow Management (FIFM) process when planning and carrying out works that may impact the water network. This process ensures isolation activities are assessed, approved and coordinated to minimise risk to customers and the network.

Acquire land and easements

If you need to acquire easements or land for Sydney Water infrastructure, use our Procedure: Easement guidelines.

The guidelines will help you understand:

  • when an easement or land is required
  • the requirements and conditions you must follow
  • how to progress to acquisition.

Submit an Easement requirement form with your design plan.

These documents help you identify risks, plan your work, and take steps to keep yourself and others safe when working near electricity.
