Northwest Drinking Water Supply

Improving water supply

We're working to support growth demand and enable new housing and communities while protecting the environment and health, and maintaining the reliability of service and water security for current and future customers.

About this project

Prospect water supply system is the largest central water supply system in the Greater Sydney metropolitan area. It comprises 6 delivery systems, one of which is Prospect North. The Prospect North delivery system consists of 4 distribution systems, including the Hills Suburbs Distribution System and the Hornsby Distribution System. These 2 distribution systems are earmarked for significant growth, with 140,000 new dwellings forecast to be built and 130,000 new jobs created.

The goal of the Northwest Drinking Water Supply project is to ensure the secure supply of drinking water in the Hills Suburbs and the Hornsby distribution systems.
