The NSW Government is moving ahead with critical water and wastewater works to support housing growth in the community of Wilton in Sydney's south-west.
The Minns Labor Government is committed to delivering the homes, the infrastructure, and the essential services communities need as part of one plan.
Wilton Stage 2 will enable water and wastewater services for about 4,000 new homes in the area, doubling the total servicing capacity across Wilton to around 8,000 homes and businesses.
This investment builds on major work already underway, ensuring essential water and wastewater infrastructure keeps pace with population growth, allowing more families to move to one of the state's key growth areas.

A major milestone has been achieved on the Prospect Pre-Treatment Plant project, with teams successfully completing one of the most complex operational activities undertaken on Sydney's drinking water network in almost 30 years.
A new pre-treatment plant is being built alongside the existing water filtration plant, which supplies drinking water to around 85% of Greater Sydney's population and will help the city’s water system support population growth.
The project forms part of Sydney Water's approximately $838 million investment in strengthening the resilience of Greater Sydney's drinking water system.
It will also help Sydney Water respond to increasingly challenging conditions caused by extreme weather, which can compromise raw water quality in Warragamba Dam and surrounding catchments.

Sydney Water has been working on an ambitious restoration of one of Sydney's most striking and enduring landmarks. The Ben Buckler Ventilation Shaft, a 115-year-old heritage-listed sentinel that has towered over North Bondi's dramatic coastline since the early 20th century.
Perched high above the crashing waves of Bondi Bay, this iconic reinforced-concrete chimney, standing tall at around 100 feet, quietly performs an essential, unseen duty.
It vents fresh air from the vast underground Bondi Water Resource Recovery Facility, ensuring a safe working environment for staff.

With the cold and flu season almost upon us, Sydney Water is reminding people not to flush tissues down the toilet, after a survey of its customers found close to half mistakenly believe it's OK to do so.
Sydney Water clears more than 12,000 wastewater blockages each year, and with overflow clean-up incidents, network repairs, and operational impacts, the total cost to tackle the issue is almost $24 million.
Many of those blockages are caused by an accumulation of non-flushable items including tissues, wipes, paper towels and sanitary products.

The NSW Government is undertaking one of the largest wastewater infrastructure upgrade programs in recent history to support the fast-growing communities in Sydney's south west and help protect the city’s famous beaches.
It's all part of the Minns Labor Government's investment in the essential infrastructure Sydney needs to grow and thrive.
The Malabar System Investment Program, estimated at $3 billion over the next 10 years, will reduce the volume of wastewater that needs to be treated and discharged via the Malabar deep ocean outfall.
