Evergreen dense shrub (variable 2-4m x 2-3m) from Qld. Ovate lanceolate leaves with bronze hairy new growth. Bright red brush-like flowers with yellow anthers from late winter to summer. Useful as a feature; screen or informal hedge. Bird attracting. Prefers moist soils and coastal conditions. Sensitive to heavy frosts. *Known to damage underground services, do not plant within 6 metres of any wastewater pipe.
