Single stemmed palm (13m x 4m) from Qld and NSW. Pinnately divided fronds; fall with age leaving a smooth clean trunk. Lilac flowers and bright red fruits; often hidden in the foliage. Useful planted in clumps for a tropical effect. Prefers a protected partly shaded position and fertile soil. Moderately frost tolerant. Drought sensitive.
