Evergreen medium to large sized tree with smooth white powdery bark (20m x 8m) from NSW (including Sydney) & Vic. Useful as a feature or shade tree or multi-stemmed for a large informal bush garden. Responds well to coppicing to obtain multi-stemmed specimens. Tolerates shallow infertile soil. Susceptible to dropping limbs. Hybridisation has resulted in many sub-species. Frost and drought tolerant. *Known to damage underground services, do not plant within 6 metres of any wastewater pipe.
