Evergreen neat clump forming perennial (0.5m x 0.4m) from China and Japan. Narrow silvery green leaves on slender weak stems. Large balloon buds opening to lilac or purple bell shaped flowers in summer. Useful for colour in the perennial garden or fill-in between shrubs. Prefers fertile moist soil. Frost tolerant. Drought sensitive.
