Deciduous basal leaf bulbs forming tufts (0.15m x 0.2m) from Uruguay and Argentina. Glossy green linear strap-shaped leaves. Leafless stems carry star shaped white flowers in autumn. Useful for mass planting in drifts; as a border or in clumps. May be left in situ for many years before dividing. Frost tolerant.
