Our drinking water management system

We supply you with high quality, safe drinking water managed under our Drinking Water Management System.

Our Drinking Water Management Manual shows our commitment to providing safe and reliable drinking water and explains our Drinking Water Management System.
The manual describes what we do to manage the quality of your drinking water. It ensures our catchment to customer risk management approach is in use and working.

We work to ensure our drinking water:

  • meets the standards set out in the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines
  • satisfies two of our key regulators - NSW Health and the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal (IPART).

Regulatory relationships

The Australian Drinking Water Guidelines:

  • provide guidance on how to manage water supplies to produce safe drinking water
  • outline acceptable limits for drinking water quality.

Our Drinking Water Management System applies the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines frameworks to manage drinking water quality.

A Memorandum of Understanding describes our relationship with NSW Health.

NSW Health:

The Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal (IPART) ensures we provide safe drinking water that's reasonably priced.

IPART audits our Operating Licence each year. The licence:

  • outlines how we must manage our drinking water
  • includes our responsibilities to you.

Incident and enquiry process

If testing or other information identifies problems with the quality of our drinking water, we put our Pollution Incident Response Management Plan into place.

The plan sets out how we respond to, and manage, water quality incidents. This includes consulting with NSW Health.

We'll always notify you if there's a health issue relating to your drinking water.
