    Background Summary

This tender seeks responses from suitably qualified suppliers to provide condition assessment services of underground water (critical water mains) and sewer (sewer rising mains) pipelines made from mild steel, ductile iron, and cast iron of varying pipe size. This tender also seeks suppliers to undertake condition assessment of pipelines under major crossing such as railways.

The condition of each section of pipeline shall be assessed using a two-stage approach, general inspection and detailed inspection (if required). At the end of the general inspection stage, the contractor shall submit a report that includes a recommendation whether detailed inspection is required. A further report will be required after the detailed inspection.

Technical Specification is provided to outline Sydney Water’s requirement and aid the Tenderer in planning the condition assessment and reporting.

The program of works to be delivered is around 350km of pipeline inspection, however, Sydney Water does not guarantee minimum lengths to be inspected.

Sydney Water may engage one supplier and up to a maximum of three through this competitive tender process. The contract(s) will end on 30 June 2016.
