Sydney Water is required to maintain a Heritage and Conservation Register under section 170 of the NSW Heritage Act 1977 (the S170 Register). This Register lists Sydney Water assets which have been identified as having State or local heritage significance. Many of the items on the S170 Register have been listed in other heritage registers as well, such as the State Heritage Register or on Local Environmental Plans.
At present, the Sydney Water Heritage Register contains over 200 items, including items of state and local heritage significance. All items identified as having State heritage significance are also listed on the State Heritage Register, maintained by the Heritage Council of NSW. Information regarding the Heritage Register is also contained in our Annual Report.
The Heritage Register can be searched in two ways:
Basic Search allows searching by item name, street address, suburb or local government area. Suitable for most users.
Advanced Search in addition to the Basic search criteria, allows searches by item type, heritage listing types and other criteria. Useful to heritage professionals, researchers or those interested in comparative information.
