The development of management systems within Sydney Water is driven by a number of external and internal forces. These forces relate to the need to deliver consistent and reliable products and services to our customers, to meet the requirements of regulatory authorities and to ensure effective management of business activities, whilst meeting all relevant occupational health and safety and environmental regulations and requirements.
The Sydney Water Management Systems Framework identifies Sydney Water's management systems and provides a structure that can explain the linkages between them to the public, to the regulators and to the staff of Sydney Water. The Framework provides the means by which Sydney Water's management systems are linked in a systematic manner.
The framework:
provides a list of approved management systems in Sydney Water
provides guidelines and a structure that indicates where and how existing and future management systems shall fit and operate within Sydney Water
identifies and defines responsibilities for the Framework and management systems
provides guidance for assigning responsibilities for the management of individual management system
provides a listing of Sydney Water Common Procedures/Key Requirements for procedures
Identifies and explains the relationship between the Framework Guidelines and Responsibilities within the SW Management Systems Framework.
The Management Systems Framework Guidelines and Responsibilities are developed to provide guidance for the management, improvement and development of management systems and common procedures and key requirements across the Corporation. The Responsibilities document relates to the Guidelines document, and must be considered and followed as a subset of the Guidelines.
