Prospect Reservoir picnic areas

Prospect Reservoir picnic areas are located off Reservoir road, Prospect, approximately 35 kilometres west of Sydney. The facilities include:

Important information:

Bookings are not available. Picnic areas and tables cannot be reserved.
Fires are not permitted.
BBQ's are no longer provided. You may bring your own portable gas BBQ.
Dogs are permitted on a leash.
Drive slowly / observe speed signs.
Public parking only within areas so marked.

  • Alcohol
  • Amusement rides
  • Damaging vegetation
  • Entering restricted areas
  • Fishing, boating or swimming
  • Golf
  • Heavy vehicle parking
  • Jumping castles
  • Lighting fires
  • Powered model cars / aircraft / kites
  • Rubbish dumping / littering
  • Tents / tarpaulins
  • Trail bikes / scooters / skateboards
  • Vendors

The picnic area is open every day of the year:

There is no entry to the area 15 minutes prior to closing time. Access to some Sydney Catchment Authority or Sydney Water areas may be restricted from time-to-time due to construction, maintenance, or operational activity, or for environmental reasons.
