Community sponsorships

We take great pride in supporting a broad range of organisations and activities in our area of operations through an extensive sponsorship program focusing on the community, youth and the environment.

Sydney Water supports:

• Taronga zoo
• Sculpture by the sea
• Keep Australia beautiful - clean beach challenge
• Illawarra & South Coast SLSA surf club premiership
• Powerhouse Museum

Donation programs

Sydney Water's Donations Programs aims to assist the communities it is part of. The Program supports financial hardship prevention by increasing the capacity of the social sector. It also supports environmental education programs.

Sydney Water provides in-kind support and is a Foundation Member of WaterAid Australia. WaterAid Australia works in partnership with poor communities in the regions of Australia, Asia and the Pacific to set up and maintain water, sanitation and hygiene projects. It is also one of the participating charities in our employee payroll deduction program.

Sponsorship requests

Sydney Water receives many requests for support from community groups, organisations and customers.

Sydney Water will only sponsor organisations with activities in our specific geographic area (JPG - 603KB) which covers Sydney, the Blue Mountains and Illawarra.

Sydney Water will not sponsor:

• individual sports people or sports teams
• activities where there is insufficient lead-time to prepare
• activities that are not aligned with our key corporate objectives
• activities that fall outside our area of operation
• organisations that demonstrate political, religious or socially divisive objectives
• activities that denigrate or offend the community.

Sponsorship application

All sponsorship requests require a minimum lead-time of three months and must be received in writing.

Please allow six to eight weeks for your application to be fully evaluated.
