The plan sets out the key focus areas and strategies for 2010-2015. Implementation of the previous two plans has resulted in significant improvements to drinking water quality.
Sydney Water’s vision for drinking water quality over the next five years is to continue to protect public health by:
maintaining the current processes for managing risks to water quality
seeking to continuously improve processes and procedures
keeping up to date with the latest scientific and technical knowledge in drinking water quality and applying it to our operations
working with key stakeholders and in particular, NSW Health, the Sydney Catchment Authority and the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal to continue to manage risks to drinking water quality
maintaining full compliance with all drinking water quality aspects of the Operating Licence.
The plan is written in accordance with Sydney Water’s Operating Licence and follows the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines 2004.
