Sydney Water conducted public consultation in September 2005 as part of the process of developing its Five-Year Drinking Water Quality Management Plan 2005-2010 (Five-Year Plan).
The Plan was then finalised and endorsement obtained from NSW Health on 29 November 2005.
This Plan provides a framework to ensure the continued supply of safe drinking water in Sydney, Illawarra and the Blue Mountains. It also ensures that Sydney Water is well positioned to effectively deal with and manage emerging water quality issues that could impact on the water industry.
The Five-Year Plan is a component of Sydney Water’s long-term strategy for sustainable water, wastewater and storm water services.
