Sydney Water crews are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to respond to leaks and breaks. Our improved leak and break response times are saving over 700 million litres of water a year.
We send a crew out to inspect all reported leaks within 24 hours. An assessment is then made. If the leak requires urgent attention the job will be given a higher priority.
Priority is based on any threat to public health of our customers, the environment and/or property, and the loss of water.
If you see a leak, call Sydney Water on 13 20 90 (24 hours a day, seven days a week). To help us assess the leak or break please tell us:
the location of the leak or break (including closest cross street)
where the leak or break is (metal or concrete cover, footpath or grass nature strip, front yard or meter area)
the amount of water leaking (is the force greater or less than a garden hose).
