NSW Fair Trading warning: 28 January 2011

Fair Trading has received more than 90 complaints from consumers who have bought water tanks or paid deposits and where the tanks have not been supplied.

Read the Public Warning on Unfair Trading of water Tanks on 28 January 2011.

The rebate for rainwater tanks has ended.

Installing a rainwater tank can save valuable drinking water and reduce the amount of stormwater leaving your property. Rainwater tanks store rainwater run-off from catchment areas like your roof. The water from your roof is funnelled along your gutters and into downpipes connected to your tank.

The larger the roof catchment area connected to your tank, the greater the water savings. By connecting the rainwater tank to the toilet and washing machine you can maximise the amount of money and water saved.

The rainwater tank brochure (PDF - 0KB) has some general information about rainwater tanks.
