The Every Drop Counts (EDC) Business Program offers a structured water conservation program for Sydney Water's business customers who use more than 80,000 litres of water a day.
It aims to help businesses understand where and how water is used in their businesses, to asses the true costs of water, improve their management of water and implement practical projects to save water.

The program involves:
The program complements the processes large businesses need to do a water saving action plan (PDF - 0KB) .
To formally participate in the Program, you will need to enter into a voluntary business arrangement with Sydney Water. This arrangement demonstrates your business's commitment to improving water management practices and implementing cost effective water saving measures.
To help companies improve their management of water, and benchmark progress against others, the EDC Business Program offers companies a water management diagnostic (PDF - 0KB) . This is a facilitated, self assessed process that uncovers strengths and weaknesses in water management.
The diagnostic will identify five critical actions needed to further improve your management of water. Sydney Water will work with you to help you implement the critical actions.
Almost all management diagnostics identify the need for business to better understand why, how and where water is used in the business. The EDC Program can help you fund water efficiency audits so that you can find out how water is being use, and how you can save water.
Audits also give you realistic saving targets, a cost and payback estimate of water saving projects, and water use benchmarks.
