Sydney Water's Every Drop Counts Water Efficiency Awards celebrate the achievements of the business community in water efficiency and best practice water management.

In 2009 the pool of finalists was outstanding with representatives from heavy industry, the commercial building sector, manufacturing and local and state government.

Companies recognised include Pennant Hills Golf Club that reduced it's drinking water use by 94%, and food manufacturer Snackbrands Australia who incorporated advanced water treatment technology to recover and reuse up to 70 per cent of water used in production.

Sydney Water's Every Drop Counts Business Program has been internationally recognised as a leader in the field of water sustainability and award recipients reflect this high standard.

So far, the 416 businesses signed up to the Every Drop Counts Business Program are saving over 15 billion litres of water a year. Programs for smaller businesses are saving over 894 million litres of water a year.
