Sydney Water beneficially uses the by-products from water and wastewater treatment, including water treatment residuals, biosolids and grit and screenings. By-products are used in agriculture, composting, landscaping or land rehabilitation. We produce about 180,000 wet tonnes of biosolids each year, which are 100% beneficially used.
