To report a fault or seek an emergency repair phone Sydney Water on 13 20 90 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
When reporting a leak, you will usually be asked to provide a number of details to assist staff in identifying the location and severity of the leak. Details required include:
Location (including closest cross street)
Origin - ie: metal or concrete cover, footpath or grass nature strip, front yard or meter area
Volume of leaking water - whether the volume and force of water is greater than or less than the volume and force that normally emerges from a garden hose
After assessment of these details, Sydney Water then prioritises the job according to whether the leak or break poses a threat to the health of customers, the environment and/or property, and how much water is being wasted. Repairs are then completed in order of priority.
