How water efficient is your household? Do you know how much water you use on average each day? Look at your latest water bill and compare your household's water use with our targets for water efficient households.
The target figures represent efficient water use during water restrictions across greater Sydney by households with between one and six people. These households have:
a water efficient front loading washing machine
a dual flush toilet
at least one AAA-rated showerhead
AAA-rated tap aerators/regulators.
These households do not have a pool, rainwater tank or dishwasher.
The targets are based on quarterly meter readings of actual participants in Sydney Water's WaterFix program:
