Galston & Glenorie Wastewater Scheme

We've provided improved wastewater services to Galston and Glenorie.

The scheme was completed in mid-2015 and eligible properties are now connecting to the new wastewater system.

About the wastewater scheme

We've provided a new wastewater service to about:

  •  395 properties in the village of Galston
  •  235 properties in Glenorie.

Our maps show the properties serviced by our new wastewater system.

The new wastewater service is a pressure sewerage system. These systems work by collecting wastewater in a small tank installed on each property connected to the system. A pump inside the tank grinds the wastewater and then pumps it to Sydney Water’s network of pipes in the street.

Wastewater from Galston and Glenorie is transferred to the existing network at Dural, then to West Hornsby Wastewater Treatment Plant for treatment.

Hornsby Shire and The Hills Shire Councils are the regulatory authorities for on-site septic systems in these villages. They're encouraging eligible properties to connect to the new wastewater system as soon as possible to ensure the significant benefits are achieved quickly.
