    Background Summary

    Sydney Water Corporation is a statutory State owned corporation under the Sydney Water Act 1994 (NSW) and operates under the State Owned Corporations Act 1989 (NSW). Sydney Water provides water and wastewater services to the Sydney metropolitan, Illawarra and Blue Mountains regions. Sydney Water has maintained the reputation of being a leader in water and wastewater services in Australia by providing these services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The scope of this Request for Tender is for the provision of the following three civil remediation projects:

    Separable Portion 1: Remediation Works at the Palm Beach Reservoir Site

    The Palm Beach potable water reservoir is located on reserve land adjacent to McKay Road and has been constructed on an excavation at the toe of a natural slope. The excavation is near vertical at the slope and extends approximately half way around the reservoir structure.

    Separable Portion 2: Remediation Works at the Loftus Reservoir Site

    The Loftus Reservoir WS171 is located off Wheatley Road Yarrawarrah and accessed by a 30 meter long roadway owned by Sydney Water. The surface of the entry road is unsealed disturbed ground without storm water guttering. The condition of the road has over the years deteriorated to the extent that significant erosion of the unsealed surface is creating problems for vehicles accessing the site during periods of wet weather.

    Separable Portion 3: Remediation works at the Port Kembla Storm Plant

    The Port Kembla Storm Plant, located off Military Road adjoining the coastline, includes an Electrical Control Centre and an Amenities Building on its site. The Electrical Control Centre is a two level building containing infrastructure equipment required for the operation of the Plant. The Amenities Building is a single storey building used to provide amenities for operational staff.

    The purpose of the Services is to arrest the deterioration of the concrete structures and to restore the structural integrity of the buildings by replacing all timber doors and windows, installing lintels above door and window openings and rendering the brick fa├žades of the buildings.

    To be considered for award of the proposed contract, the Tenderer must have the following;

    1. Assessed financial capability to perform the contract.

    2. An OHS System in place. The System must comply with the requirements of the NSW Government OHS Management Systems Guidelines (5th Edition).

    3. Quality Management System Certification to AS/NZS ISO 9001:2000.

    4. Proven experience having successfully completed similar remediation works for each of the Separable Portions in the past 3 years.
