    The Background Summary

    As part of Sydney Water’s regular inspection program for stormwater assets, several assets were identified as requiring renewal. These included a number of assets in the City Area 29 stormwater catchment located within Sydney CBD and a section of stormwater asset at the intersection of Cleveland Street and Abercrombie Street, Surry Hills within the Blackwattle Bay catchment.

    The broad scope of work is to undertake the renewal of 0.88 km of stormwater assets. The scope of works includes, but is not limited to the following:

     Preparation of planning documents as required under the Contract.

     Undertaking of Preconstruction Survey and validation of location of existing services that could be impacted by the works under the Contract  Establishment of Traffic Control and Pedestrian Management

     Construction Environment Management Plan (CEMP) and/or Environmental Work Method Statements (EWMS)  Site access & establishment.

     Provision of all confined spaces measures including access, ventilation, communication, emergency evacuation, flow monitoring and coordination necessary to facilitate the rehabilitation/renewal works.

     Coordination with Sydney Water to establish a Flow Management Plan and then implementation of the plan for the rehabilitation/renewal works to the stormwater assets. Flow control includes all incoming pipes into the lengths being rehabilitated/renewed.

     Removal and offsite disposal of existing debris and silt to enable further investigation of stormwater pipes

     Full CCTV investigations, and pipeline profiling as required

    .  Modification of upper sections of the maintenance holes for improved access as required by the Contract

     Installation of CIPP linings to lengths specified in the Drawings and the Technical Specification.

     Full length replacement to lengths specified in the Drawings and the Technical Specification.

     Localised dig and repairs to lengths specified in the Drawings and the Technical Specification.

     Brick oviform reinstatement repairs to Pitt St and Cleveland St stormwater channels.

     Construction of new maintenance holes in the locations indicated in the Drawings and the Technical Specification.

     Liaison and coordination with Sydney Water and all other relevant authorities/stakeholders including the adjoining property owners

     Obtaining necessary approvals from relevant councils and RMS, arrange access, relocate services and manage traffic and pedestrian movements as necessary to complete the works as required under the Contract. This includes obtaining heritage approvals before commencement of work, where required.
