    Background Summary

    Sydney Water Corporation has more than 12,000 ventilation shafts whose function is to ventilate or expel gases from the sewerage system. These ventilation shafts are made of mild steel or stainless steel construction with varying ages and condition and require routine maintenance or replacement.

    Scope of Work

    The primary purpose of this Contract is to ensure the integrity of the Sydney Water sewer networks by ensuring the sewers are effectively ventilated via ventilation shafts to meet operational and community requirements. This includes but is not limited to:

    • The supply of any Product as defined in this Contract necessary for the installation, repair, replacement and / or maintenance of ventilation shafts;

    and

    • The provision of maintenance services to install, repair, replace and carry out ancillary services to maintain the ventilation shafts;

    and

    • Other works may be required to facilitate the primary purpose.

    The contractor appointed will also be required, among others, to:

    • Work together with the appointed Supplier, Maintenance Provider and Service Provider nominated by Sydney Water.

    • Comply with all Sydney Water requirements, such as Environmental, Community Relations, OHS and this Technical Specification.

    • Provide comprehensive reporting in a format approved by Sydney Water.

    • Update Sydney Water information / management systems in a format approved by Sydney Water.

    An industry briefing will be held to provide information and to clarify the required Work and the Tender Process. The time, date and venue are set out in the RFT.

    The Tender Process

    Sydney Water’s Request For Tender (‘RFT’) allows prospective Tenderers to submit responses for one or all of the following components:

    a. Supply Component

    b. Maintenance Component?

    c. Supply and Maintenance Component

    The Supply and Maintenance of Ventilation Shafts Framework Diagram outlining the procurement methodology is set out below.

    The Supply Component of the RFT seeks submission in response to Sydney Water standard designs and allows the Supplier to tender Other Designs that meet Sydney Water requirements.
