Annual Report

Our Annual Report 2018–19 covers our achievements over the year, our performance against our statutory requirements and the progress we’ve made towards meeting our corporate strategic goals.

This year’s highlights include:

  • expanding the Customer Hub to cover all areas of our operation, minimising or avoiding water outages for around 115,000 properties in 2018–19 (saving potential customer redress payments of around $1.3 million)
  • spending $30 million on reducing leaks and by engaging extra crews, increased active leak detection by 66%
  • funding $10.9 million into the environmental performance program, increasing remedial maintenance. Additionally, investing in the network with 57% increase in employees directly working to reduce leaks and breaks
  • launching the Parramatta River Masterplan with the Parramatta River Catchment Group, to make the waterway swimmable again by 2025
  • announcing a solution to eliminate the last remaining ocean outfalls, which release untreated wastewater at Vaucluse and Diamond Bay. Construction is anticipated to start in mid-2020.
