Water pumping stations

Lugarno Water Pumping Station

Sydney Water operates over 170 water pumping stations to transfer water across its area of operations.

As part of its ongoing maintenance program, Sydney Water regularly replaces aging equipment on water pumping stations. Typically this includes pumps, motors and electrical control equipment.

Site works are generally limited to the grounds of the pumping station site, and may take up to 6 months to complete.

At the end of the work Sydney Water will fully restore the work site.

You will be given notice of timings for any projects in your area.

Water booster pumping stations

Some of our customers experience low or inconsistent water pressure. Variations in water pressure are caused by a number of factors, including how far your property is from the reservoir, its elevation and the level of water use in the area. Generally, properties in lower areas receive higher water pressure and properties in higher areas receive lower water pressure.

Sydney Water is installing booster stations in areas that experience low or inconsistent water pressure.
