Sydney Water started constructing the Agnes Banks and Londonderry Sewerage Scheme in early 2009. The scheme will provide improved sewerage services to about 280 properties in the two towns.
Pressure sewerage system equipment is supplied to and installed on eligible properties1 by Sydney Water if property owners commit to connecting within 12 months of connections becoming available. The project team has installed pressure sewerage equipment on eligible properties1 in Agnes Banks and Londonderry.
Eligible properties1 in both towns can now connect to the sewerage system. Property owners should contact their licensed plumber/drainer to arrang their connection.
More than 16 km of wastewater pipes will transfer waste from Agnes Banks and Londonderry to the Richmond Water Recycling Plant. The plant already supplies recycled water to the University of Western Sydney and Richmond Golf Club for irrigation.
Remaining construction work will occur between 7 am and 6 pm, Monday to Friday and between 8 am and 1 pm on Saturdays. No work is planned for Sundays or public holidays.
Penrith and Hawkesbury City Councils are working with Sydney Water to encourage property owners to connect to the new system as soon as possible.
A connection guide (PDF - 0KB) has been prepared to help property owners with the connection process.
Sydney Water would like to thank the community for its continued patience and support.
1 Please note that properties created as a result of a subdivision after scheme approval are not eligible for a subsidised connection. Other eligibility criteria may also apply. Learn more about connection requirements.
