Sydney Water has constructed a new pipeline from Liverpool to Ashfield to protect public health and provide for population growth in the south west of Sydney.
The pipeline provides additional wastewater transfer capacity for the growing population of south western Sydney and reduces dry weather flow in the existing wastewater system to ensure satisfactory operation and maintenance.
It is used to transport treated wastewater for potential reuse by customers.
The project was part of the South Western Sydney Wastewater Scheme and includes:
24 kilometre long pipeline from Liverpool Water Recycling Plant to the existing wastewater system at Ashfield
new pumping station and associated work in Liverpool Water Recycling Plant
new pumping station and associated work in Fairfield Wastewater Treatment Plant.
