The St Marys Water Education Centre (PDF - 289KB) is on Links Road, St Marys.
The centre has been designed to enhance classroom learning. Students will see first hand how water recycling technology works and its current and future role in the water supply. They will gain an in-depth understanding of the managed water cycle, the role of water recycling in securing Sydney’s water supply, how water recycling projects are developed and what is considered when planning water recycling projects.
The centre features a suite of audiovisual and learning technologies including video conferencing, interactive touch screens, exhibition displays and a Smartboard, and allows visitors to see:
This plant uses reverse osmosis technology to supply recycled water for release to the Hawkesbury-Nepean River. It replaces up to 18 billion litres of drinking water that until now has been released from Warragamba Dam to assist the health of the river.
