Tour the Rouse Hill Wastewater Treatment and Water Recycling Plant

The Rouse Hill Wastewater Treatment and Water Recycling Plant recycles highly treated wastewater back to homes for non-drinking purposes.

Where is the plant?

The Rouse Hill Wastewater Treatment and Water Recycling Plant is on Mile End Road, Rouse Hill.

What will we see there?

This innovative and automated plant treats wastewater to a high tertiary standard and then sends the recycled disinfected water back to homes and businesses for non-drinking purposes through a special set of water pipes.

You'll see physical, biological and mechanical treatment processes such as screening, settling, biological nutrient removal, filtering and disinfection.

You'll also see recycled water treatment in operation.

The plant turns waste materials into biosolids for use in agriculture.

What happens on the tour?

The tour takes about two hours and includes a multimedia presentation and site tour.

The group will be met by the tour leader, who will escort you and explain the treatment processes.
