We have been proud partners in conservation with Taronga Zoo since 1990 when we sponsored the zoo's valuable penguin research program. This was subsequently followed with assistance in the development of an onsite wastewater and recycling system. Today our partnership includes the Sydney Water Seal Theatre and the educational sustainable house in Backyard to Bush.
Sydney Water Month at Taronga Zoo
Every April since 2001, we have held a month-long promotion at Taronga Zoo.
On every weekend and during the school holidays in April, our staff take up prime locations across the zoo to promote key water-saving messages and engage young minds with interactive educational activities.
Sydney Water month at Taronga Zoo includes an interactive children's activity focused around the Water Wise Passport challenge. Children receive a passport, complete three activities at different locations around the zoo and collect a prize.
While completing the challenge, they learn about the water supply and demand, and how to make every drop count at home.
