The Illawarra Academy of Sport gives junior sportspersons the opportunity and encouragement needed for them to reach their full potential. The academy develops and supports both able-bodied and athletes with a disability and coaches.
Established in 1985, the academy was the first regional academy in Australia. It is a non-profit, independent and community focused organisation dedicating to serving sports in the Illawarra and empowering Australia's future champions.
Playing our part to develop Australia's future swimming stars, Sydney Water has supported the Illawarra Academy of Sport's Sydney Water swim squad since the squad was formed in 1997.
