Customer Council meetings

Our Operating Licence 2010-2015 requires us to communicate the outcome of the Customer Council's work to the public, including the publication of meeting agenda and minutes1.

The role

Sydney Water's Corporate Customer Council makes an invaluable contribution to the understanding of what our customers need and expect. At Sydney Water, we are committed to listening to our customers' needs and building relationships with the community to improve our services.

Sydney Water currently has a Corporate Customer Council, a Commercial and Industrial Customer Forum and the provision to establish short term Advisory Groups. The Corporate Customer Council has been established pursuant to section 4.5 under Sydney Water's Operating Licence 2010-15 under Section 15 of the Sydney Water Act 1994.

The roles and responsibilities of the Corporate Customer Council and the Commercial and Industrial customer forum are set out in charters, which have been jointly drafted by Sydney Water and members.

Corporate Customer Council

Members include key representatives from peak organisations for example: The Council of Social Service of NSW, the Ethnic Communities' Council of NSW, the Property Council of Australia, BlueScope Steel, as well as local government.

Commercial and Industrial Customer Forum

Members include key representatives from peak organisations such as the Australian Industry Group, Australian Business, P.U.R.E, the Restaurant and Catering Association NSW, Australian Chemical Specialty Manufacturers Association, Australian Food and Grocery Council, Australian Institute of Metal Finishing, Motor Traders' Association, Plastic and Chemicals Industries Association, Shopping Centre Council of Australia, Australian Vice Chancellors Committee, Australian Pulp and Paper Industry and Traders Association.
