Handy Hint:
Ask your solicitor or conveyancing agent:
How is the water usage adjusted at settlement?
Your solicitor or conveyancer will proportion the costs between the two parties based on the sale date.
You do not need to have your water meter read or to have the water connected/disconnected.
Your solicitor or conveyancing agent notifies NSW Land and Property Information (LPI) of the change in property title and they forward the information to Sydney Water. We then change the name on the bill to that of the new owner. This may take 4-6 weeks.
Moving or changing address?
Property Owners:
If you are planning on leasing or renting out your property, check with your agent on your responsibilities and obligations.
When you move or change address, contact us to tell us where to send your bill.
Property Tenants:
What you pay and how you pay will depend on your lease arrangements. Check with your real estate agent or landlord on your responsibilities and obligations.
You do not need to have the water meter read or to have the water connected/disconnected when you move in or move out.
