Provider accreditation

Sydney Water has extended all existing Developer Infrastructure Provider Agreements until June 2012.

Sydney Water will not be accepting any new applications for Providers to the Asset Creation Developer Process. We will review our position on new Provider accreditation after June 2012.

Training for accreditation

Providers who require training and assessment for accreditation are referred to the NSW Water Training and Assessment Network (WTAN) for all information on training courses for Sydney Water Accreditation Requirements and Trainers/Assessors.

Your training must cover the following units of competency:

• Water Construction - NWP233B
• Wastewater Construction (construct wastewater collection assets) - NWP250B
• Minor Works (install junctions and sidelines) - NWP255B
• Access Chambers (construct and/or repair minor structures) - NWP229B
• Water connection Services - NWP253B
• Confined spaces - RIIOHS202A Enter and work in confined spaces or BCCCM2009B Work in confined space or NWP219A Work safely in confined spaces.

Once you have attained one of the above (or equivalent) competencies it is your responsibility as a Provider to be aware of and to understand Sydney Water's policy HSP-001 Safe Entry and Working in Confined Spaces (PDF - 2884KB) .

Note: This policy is to be used as a guide only. However, as the provider, you must still develop your own safety management plans and safe work method statements, in accordance with the Regulation and Act.
